About an alchemist

hello :D

it has been a while since when i hav blogged. Not much has actually happened, so this time i will be talking to you all about one of my favourite TV shows. Before that, i will give you guys, a small introduction as to what an anime is. Anime is animation originating from Japan, you could say japanese animation. It has large audience in japan and has recognition all around the world. alongside animes are mangas. let me briefe you about mangas as well. mangas are japanese comics, following the traditional way of drawing in Japan. They are popular among all age groups.

My favourite Tv show is an anime. Ususally most animes have a good story with surprise elements, twist, action and some emotion. But this anime is rare and it is truly the best i have ever seen. I have been watching animes since a very long time starting from pokemon. But this anime has a different impact on me.

Ever heard of fullmetal alchemist? that is my favourite anime. well there are two animes actually; fullmetal alchemist and fullmetal alchemist brotherhood. both have the same basic characters but as the story progresses, they begin to differ. I did know of a certain Tv show named fullmetal alchemist when i was very small and i also tried watching it. for some reason i was unable to understand the events and i got bored of it. when brotherhood aired for the first time in the year 2009, i was aware of it. My interest in fullmetal alchemist aroused when i watched the fourth episode of brotherhood. It was by chance when i was just looking through the channels aimlessly. that episode was wonderfull as it made me laugh as well as cry. the concepts of a chimera were interesting and the events in that episode were truly heart rendering! it was then that i made up my ming to see this amazing anime. I was irregular in the starting and didn't follow the storyline properly. but i was able to see all of the good episodes. from the 30th episode or so, i became and ardent fan of the show. I made sure i didn't miss an episode. With the help of a good friend of mine, i was able to find a site where i could read mangas. I read the manga (brotherhood is faithful to the manga except a few changes) and was able to catch up with all the action i had missed. the story was truly amazing. i came to know how it ended before that episode aired on tv as i had already read the manga. i was satisfied too. At present I am watching fullmetal alchemist which is equally good. (i am able to understand better than when i was young :P)

Here is more about my favourite anime and manga:

Fullmetal alchemist initially began as a manga by (the GREAT) Hiromu Arakawa in the year 2001. It revolves around two brothers named Edward and Alphonse Elric. edward and alphonse lived in a small yet beautiful place called resembool with their mother trisha elric. their father, van hohenheim, left them when they were really young. edward was older than alphonse. the two of them were very fond of their mother. they studied their father's books about alchemy and performed alchemy to impress their mother. but one day, trisha caught a terrible disease with no cure at all. She died, leaving the boys under the care of pinako rockbell-their neighbor and family-friend. The boys decided to bring their mother back to life. they took alchemy training under a woman by name izumi curtis and decided to perform, human transmutation. Now in this world, human transmutation was a crime- a big no-no. despite that, the brothers decided to bring their mother back to life. on one unfortunate day, the boys got all the ingrediants necessary to create an adult human body ready. they drew the array for human transmutation (alchemy can be performd using an array) and began the process. suddenly, a purple light filled the room and small black hand like structures began to pull the boys. edward lost his left leg and alphonse lost his whole body. the "mother" they created ended up being imperfect and it was truly inhumane. edward was very upset and he was left all alone. he needed his brother no matter what. so he pulled down a vinteage armour and sacrificed his right arm to bring alphonse's soul back. he somehow fixed the soul to the suite of armour. when alphonse found his brother covered in a sea of blood, he immeadiatly took him to pinako's house. pinako and her granddaughter winry (about the same age as edward) were automail mechanics. automails were artificial metal limbs that were connected to a persons nerves so that he could move them at his own will. under edward's request, pinako and winry performed an automail surgery, something that can make even an adult scream. even though it was painfull, edward stood it. he took up the state alchemist exam so that he could become a state alchemist (right when he was just 12 years) and get access to many files which may help in him restoring al's body and his limbs back to normal. he passes and he becomes the youngest state alchemist in history. he soon learns of something known as the philosopher's stone and he learns that he can restore his brother's body as well as his limbs back to normal with it. so alphonse and edward are on a quest to find the philosopher's stone. in their tough journey, they come across various secrets and the ultimate deadly secret about this country and it's future. the philosopher's stone is no mere object.

that was the basic history common to both brotherhood as well as the first anime. hiromu sensei (as i would like o call her) had not finished the manga yet so she asked bones (the company that was airing the anime) to change the story. the first anime ended followed by a movie as a sequel. the movie was called conqueror of shamballa. i had vague memories of the first anime and with that knowledge i watched the movie. the ending was not the happiest but it was appropriate. brotherhood is a whole new world. it is different and i think its ending was much happier than the first anime's.

fullmetal alchemist is not a sad and sappy anime. hiromu sensei will not do such a thing!! it is really funny and at the same time inspiring. it taught me various things. i would love to list them but then i will have to tell you the whole long story to do so! but i did learn one valuable lesson- about how to make a story. i have observed the way hiromu sensei has progressed the story and i have observed how she tied the loose ends at the end. it is all a matter of prescence of the mind. i truly appreciate hiromu senei for that. she has introduced a whole new kind of alchemy besides turning metal to gold. It is probably accumulation of various types of information but it is really interesting. using the energy of the movement of the tectonic plates- amazing!!! she has also talked of philosophies and certain spritual stuff... and i don't mind it! she also tries her best to balance the sad and happy scenes. and i think she has done it beautifully. unfortunately, i am not a good humourist but i have an idea as to how to insert humour. edward is pretty short for his age and he becomes violent whenever anyone calls him short or small or something like that! it is really funny! on the whole fullmetal alchemist is inspiring and entertaining. it is meaningfull and does not go on and on like certain animes!

hiromu senei specifies that truth is something that makes sure alchemists do not become too arrogant by taking away from them what is most important. like truth snatched away alphonse's body and he ends up unable to feel anything, not even warmth- when he actually seeked the warmth of his mother. inspired by this, i wrote a poem:

The black fingers crawl

a baby's touch yet a tinge of cruelty

As the surroundings darken

Your mind goes blank

Arrogance has taken its toll

The rotten fingers leave you aside

Grieving in darkness

Your arrogance demands alot

Took away your joy, excitement, friendship and all

Left you to suffer like a rat between us all

Arrogance is horrible and selfish

Do you still wish to serve it?

On the whole, fullmetal alchemist is an anime worth watching. It is a good suggestion for people who are going to watch animes for the first time.

a poem on my favourite animals- tigers. to every1 in general, blog about tigers! plz, spread the news that tigers are a few in number and that we have to save them! please please please!!!
this poem doesn't rhyme.

with a shade of the grasslands
and majestic stripes of black
you walk so silent so royal.
with your sharp piercing eyes
and sharp teeth ready for a bite.
oh tiger; you are magnificent

In the middle of a starry moonlit night,
you are swift yet careful not to wake your prey.

with your frightening face,
you are ready for a pounce
but someone shot you
with their mean gun.
they killed you for
your skin and fur
with a moan of grief
your handsome figure falls...

My eyes pain since
your family is in danger
facing and awful situation
how will they survive...
i wonder...

my hear aches
for your greatness is a few.

but i am sure that one day
my kind- everyone in my kind
agree that
you are an innocent tiger after all
you have a right to live so royal
and not to follow the fate
that we had presented you

tigers; they are magnificent

please save tigers! only 1411 left! :'( . i pray to my Lord to fit some brains into those empty headed greedy poachers! they better give up poaching or else... please help me out. lets join voices and go against them! make groups in facebook twitter orkut , anywhere! the force of unity is powerful! in respect to tiger - maheshwari.

save the magnificent tigers

our national animal is the tiger. wonderful creatures... their fur , their eyes, those grand stripes... everything has a touch of royalty. but now, only 1411 of them r left on earth. poaching, the most evil art practiced has reduced this magnificent creature's population. valuable chinese medicines use the eyes of the tiger as an ingredient. how can we humans be so cruel and kill tigers for our selfish needs? save the tigers. go against poaching. blog! create awareness! please save tigers, our heritage, our symbol of royalty.

Cake Exhibition

An amazing exhibition it was, the nilgiris cake exhibition. Yesterday, attended it . I was bottled with curiosity. I waited with a lot of enthusiasm in the long que. I so wanted to see the cake models. Inside I went and to my surprise, i saw a cake model of Taj Mahal. My! It looked like as though is was made out of cardboard. There were various other models as well. Just take a look. Can you believe that it is cake? I wonder who is going to eat it all? ):D i would actualy appreaciate if there wasn't so much crowd in the exhibition. the place where the show was hosted should have been bigger. After the whole exhibition we ate corn and took some family pics... (dad mum n i duh!)
