Cake Exhibition

An amazing exhibition it was, the nilgiris cake exhibition. Yesterday, attended it . I was bottled with curiosity. I waited with a lot of enthusiasm in the long que. I so wanted to see the cake models. Inside I went and to my surprise, i saw a cake model of Taj Mahal. My! It looked like as though is was made out of cardboard. There were various other models as well. Just take a look. Can you believe that it is cake? I wonder who is going to eat it all? ):D i would actualy appreaciate if there wasn't so much crowd in the exhibition. the place where the show was hosted should have been bigger. After the whole exhibition we ate corn and took some family pics... (dad mum n i duh!)

Dudhwa National Park

An amazing place for all nature lovers. Dudhwa was a fantastic experience for me. NHVPS(my school) arranged for this trip to Dudhwa as an educational camp. Many of us were willing to attend it. Among those excited students stood I. I was very much interested and even though my parents said no, I stood on one foot to go there. I was as stubborn as a jackfruit. My parents tired of my attitude agreed to send me. We left for Dudhwa on fourteenth of december which happens to be my birthday. I was very excited especially since I was traveling without my parents and with my friends for the first time in my life. How much luckier can i get? on my thirteenth birthday i get to go on an adventure camp WITHOUT my dad and mum. the train journey was made fun with my fun friends! My gang and i got a compartment for ourselves. The scenic beauty of the outside made the train journey even special. on seventeenth we reached Lucknow. Dudhwa was about 250 kms away from North Lucknow. We boarded a bus and travelled to Dudhwa. I suppose we reached by seven 'o clock. The night sky was sprinkled with millions of stars. Never once had a seen such a star lit night sky. It was amazing. We settled under the large tent. The camp organizers told us about all the activities we would be doing in the camp and introduced us our tents, toilet tents and our tribes. Our tribe was like our family. We are supposed to perform every dare with our tribe members. After a good dinner, i went inside my tent along with my other tent mates. We got thick bed sheets for the cold nights. After a good night's sleep we got up the next day at seven. the early morning fog had assembled. As we stepped outside the tent, we noticed how beautiful the place was. The sun was rising slowly. It was amazing! My heart melted at the morning beauty. After having a warm and nice bath, we proceeded for breakfast. I truly enjoyed the food at Dudhwa, for that matter even the chocolate milk they gave was yum! After having food. We settled with our tribes. We were at first assigned a task to give our tribe a good name and to decide a war cry for our tribe. We also had to decide our tribe headman and wise-man. My tribe's name was " The Extremists". I really liked the name. Everyday, we were given different dares with different objectives. we got to observe Dudhwa as and when we performed each dare. We saw plantations, woodlands, marshlands, grasslands, mustard fields, sugarcane fields, grazing lands and since we were in the buffer region, we got to even see villages. The main trees found at Dudhwa were the Sal trees and the Teak trees. We fell into freshly ploughed fields, we got bitten by ants and on the whole, the Extremists went EXTREME! :D We made observations of the life style of the Tharu people (the tribal people who resided in the village). They were very simple yet clean. The village was beautiful. They also made excellent handicrafts. An opportunity was opened to all of us to buy the handicrafts the people had made. I used my money wisely buying the most beautiful of all that was available. We also had sugarcane. Another notable place in Dudhwa is the river Mohana, the river that acts as a border between India and Nepal. If you just cross the river you would be there in Nepal. The whole place is like a beach, the sand all white and soft. We built sand models of the Tharu village. Even the path towards the river is worth observing. The core region of the National park is also nice and peaceful. We were able to observe deers. They were pretty common. unfortunately, the mighty rhino and the majestic tiger were not spotted. We saw tiger pug marks and tiger territory markings. But the tigers were intelligent. We spotted birds, many of them. We saw many in Sher kua, a place where the tigers come to drink water. The interesting thing about Dudhwa is that, the rhinos had actually become extinct but were relocated here. Wow. Thats something remarkable. Jackals were really common. We could hear them "laughing" every evening. On the whole Dudhwa was a place worth visiting. I loved the trip, especialy since I am a die hard nature lover.
